Beginners! This alternate picking Exercise if For you.

Hey dude! You’re probaby here because you’ve seen the alternate picking video and want some tabs so you can add this to your practice time - which is absolutely awesome!

I’ll not keep you any longer, there’s a PNG below of the tab so you can get started.

Here’s a few tips to get the most out of this exercise:

  • Practice this as slow as you need to - Rushing with bad technique is a one way ticket to slop city. Take it as steady as you need to keep good picking technique.

  • Use the pull offs to reset - I put those pull offs in the exercise to give you a mental queue that you’re at the beginning of a section and can reset your picking if it’s running away with you.

  • Be punctual with the accent notes - Anything that’s not an open string is there to teach your brain how to sync your picking and fretting hands so it’s extra important to be right on the beat with those notes.

  • Use a metronome - If you’re not playing along with the video, use a metronome to keep your hands in time. It’ll make it way easier I promise.

I really hope this helps! Comment here or on the video if you enjoyed the exercise and I’ll catch you in the next one!

Peace,

Jack
